The BRITA Filter Exchange Timer will need to be replaced when it runs out of battery. It tells the lifetime of the filter in your jug. The four bars represent the four weeks of the filter's lifetime and one will disappear for each week. Once all bars have disappeared, the filter will need to be replaced.

    How do I replace it?

Simply remove the previous memo using a flat head screwdriver in the indent at the end of the memo and insert the new one in its place.

Do I need the same colour as my original timer?

No, there is no difference in performance between the black timer and the white timer.

    Customer FAQs (Global)

Before you reach for BRITA, find all the answers to your questions here.

For over 50 years, BRITA is world famous for water filter jugs and water optimisation. Australian household water from the tap is compliant and safe, but may contain chlorine, heavy metals and other sediments which can affect water taste, smell and clarity.

BRITA water filters are designed to:

    • Reduce free and bound chlorine content if present.

    • Reducing carbonate hardness and act as a “water softener” where hard water is present.

    • Help filter out metals such as lead and copper which may be found from dirty or damaged mains.
